Cheryl A. Lyons, BiographyCheryl A. Lyons was born in Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated from Dedham High School and attended the University of Massachusetts (Boston) and Chandler School of Boston, from which she graduated on the Dean’s List. Over the past twenty-five years, she has worked in several law firms in Boston; Halifax, Nova Scotia; and New Jersey and is experienced in a number of legal fields including criminal law, civil litigation, real estate, estate planning, securities law, and corporate. For the past seven years she has been employed by Mitchell E. Ignatoff as his legal assistant. She is a member of Legal Secretaries of Middlesex County, Inc., Legal Secretaries of New Jersey, Inc., and Legal Secretaries International Inc. She is a past member of the Boston Legal Secretaries Association, Halifax County Legal Secretaries Association, Somerset County Legal Secretaries Association, Massachusetts Association of Legal Secretaries, New Jersey Association of Legal Secretaries, Canada Association of Legal Secretaries, and National Association of Legal Secretaries (International). Through her membership in these educational associations she keeps up with changes in the law, continues her education, and networks with legal secretaries throughout the county, state, nation and world. Over the years she has served in a variety of positions with these associations including Charter President of Halifax County Legal Secretaries Association, as well as vice president, treasurer, secretary and national representative. She is currently Treasurer of Legal Secretaries of New Jersey, Inc. She is a Certified Professional Legal Secretary, having taken and passed a two-day, comprehensive, seven-part certifying exam, testing skills and knowledge, offered by the National Association of Legal Secretaries (International) to legal secretaries with three or more years experience. |
