In an important case,  Mitchell. Ignatoff succeeded in having a second indictment dismissed. Indictments are very difficult to dismiss and, by law, Judges have to indulge every presumption in favor of an indictment voted by a grand jury.  The first indictment was dismissed because the prosecutor coaxed a cop into lying on the transcript!  The second one was dismissed because the prosecutor was wrong on both the law and the facts.
Of special note: This was only the second time that this judge has ever dismissed a second indictment.

Mitchell Ignatoff was a guest lecturer at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) course at Temple Law School 3/8-3/9 where he discussed and reviewed openings and closings performed by other lawyers in a trial team competition.

Prior to then Mr. Ignatoff participated in the eastern regional competition of the Trial Team Competition between various law schools at the Criminal Justice Center in Philadelphia. This is a mock trial in which the best team goes on to the finals in Texas.

In January Mitchell Ignatoff was a guest judge in the LLM in Trial Advocacy program at Temple Law School. He judged the trial performance of lawyers and former judges.

Over this period Mr. Ignatoff has represented a client charged with murder. He was able to persuade the State to reduce it's plea offer from 30 years to life to 18 years (15 with parole). He has also handled appeals involving whether illegal immigrants can get into Pre Trial Intervention and whether the breathalyzer is accurate below a reading of .10%.

Mr. Ignatoff continues to represent those charged with drug crimes and sex crimes, as well as fraud. He continues to represent those accused of drunk driving and other motor vehicle infractions.
