Loss of Your Driver’s License
Any offense involving operation of a vehicle can
result in loss of your driver’s license. These include
- speeding
- careless driving
- reckless driving
- accident resulting in injury or death
- driving while suspended or revoked

- drunken driving
- driving without insurance
- possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana
- possession of controlled dangerous substance -

Speeding, careless driving, and reckless
driving can result in the loss of your driver’s license. An
accident involving serious injury or death will result in loss
of your driver’s license and possible jail. Leaving the scene of
an accident, drunken driving, driving without insurance, and
possession of drugs in a motor vehicle will also result in a
loss of license
Increased loss of license
In addition to the loss of license from motor vehicle
offenses; these carry additional loss of license
- 3rd time conviction for driving while suspended- 6
months loss of license and 10 days of jail.
- Driving While Suspended for DWI- 1-2 years
additional loss of license and 10 to 90 days in jail.
- 2nd and 3rd DWI - 2 years loss of license and 10
years loss of license and 6 months in jail. Lifetime loss of
commercial driver’s license.
- 2nd Driving Without Insurance - 2 years loss of
license and 14 days jail.
- 2nd Leaving the Scene of an Accident - lifetime
loss of license.
